A BEATLES' HARD-DIE'S SITE

Dance party to celebrate anniversary of Beatles in America

In celebration of the 45th anniversary of The Beatles' arrival in America, Charles Rosenay and Mike Streeto of Liverpool Productions are organizing a Beatles Night on Friday night, February 13th. Entitled "Twist & Shout Dinner Dance Party 2009," the event takes place in Milford.
One highlight of this celebration for Beatles fans is a live concert by The Hofners, making their first-ever Connecticut appearance. The band is made up of musicians from CT and New York, some of whom have played with such nationally known tribute bands as BeatleMania, Abbey Road, Fab Forever, and Strawberry Fields.
The drummer in the band, Mike Streeto, from New Haven, is one of the promoters of this event, and he recently returned from extended stays in Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City with the band Yesterday The Tribute. The Hofners will be playing the best of The Beatles' early music, specifically geared towards dancing.

Also appearing is New York performance artist Dave Jay, who will be presenting an interactive version of his one-man off-Broadway show "JohnPaulGeorgeRingo." In the show, Dave Jay impersonates all four of The Beatles with a combination of music and comedy. Over the summer, he performed the highly acclaimed show at the Cavern Club and the Jacaranda Club in Liverpool, England.
Another very special part of the Beatles Night will be "live karaoke," where attendees get to sing their favorite songs with the band backing them. It's a unique variation on karaoke - instead of recorded tracks; the band provides the live music while singers belt out live versions of the chosen Beatle classics. It's audience participation at its best, and it should be as much fun for the audience as it is for the actual singing participants.
There will be prizes, a display of Beatles memorabilia for sale, dance music provided by Boppers DJs and other surprises.
